最佳拍檔
A couple of weeks ago I left my school half asleep
after a dreadful two hours of SATs.
I got home quite displeased
and found
the fridge void of cheese.
For my insanity to cease,
I cooked up my favorite taste.

Other than Japanese magazines, I read a magazine called
MILK. My favorite part of this Hong Kong magazine is a section
called "18 mins+", which shows easy and yummy recipes with
great process photos. The recipe that I wanted to try the most
was a warm apple juice drink with LOADS OF CINNAMON.
Apple and cinnamon are a match made in heaven, just like
tomatoes and cheese are.

Here's the recipe, by Craig Au Yeung

"Ingredients:
apple Juice (1 carton)
cinnamon sticks (3)
cinnamon powder (2 big spoonfuls)
apple(1)

Steps:
1) wash and remove skin from apple
2) chop up apples into little pieces
3) pour apple juice into pot, heat for 1 minute
4)while juice is boiling, wash cinnamon sticks
5)place cinnamon sticks into juice and cook for
half a minute
6)put apple into pot
7)cook for 10 minutes
8)add two spoonfuls of cinnamon powder into mixture
before turning off fire "

The recipe in the magazine had used cinnamon sticks, which
unfortunately, I do not know where to get. So I used
the following ingredients:

First,
chop up apple..

Pour apple juice into saucepan..

heat apple juice over a small fire (1 minute), put in cinnamon
as the mixture is boiling..

put in all the apples...

boil for 10 minutes (though I only did for five). Towards the end,
put in more cinnamon and give the mixture a good stir.

and take a good whiff of your product before gulping it all
at once.

The taste?
It was all a bit sour really.
The cinnamon was mostly on the bottom.
And there was too much apple (not enough juice!).
The smell was heavenly though.
Despite of not having the most satisfying results, I was
definitely in "love by first taste" (recipe's name given by
creator of the recipe).

An additional note about the amount of apple juice to use: I had
used 250 mL of apple juice, which was obviously not enough for
one apple. I suggest buying 500 to 750 mL for one apple
(depends if you like more apple or juice).

drinkable! 17:23 comments(0)
